Issa Rae’s Insecure won’t return until 2020

For fans that were expecting the new season of Issa Rae’s Insecure, looks like you’ll have to wait it out another year. When asked about the extra delay, Bloys explained that Rae’s has been quite busy. “Issa became a big movie star!” He said, before praising the show, and adding that this isn’t the first time the network has waited on the return of a show.

“We’re not the first place to deal with this,” Bloys continued. “But when you’re in business with very creative and talented people, there’s a lot more opportunities for people to do things. Issa, I think, partly wanted a break to come back to it fresh.”

Insecure finished its third season last fall, with the Regina King-directed season finale airing on September 30. This summer
