Former Young Money rapper Flow has just been sentenced to life in prison for a double homicide.
New Orleans rapper Widner “Flow” Degruy was found guilty for the 2015 double murder of brothers Kendred and Kendrick Bishop.
Nola reports that a jury deliberated for just one and a half hours before convicting him of two counts of second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit second-degree murder.
The murdered brother’s mother, Sherry Strauss, was present in the courtroom for sentencing. An impact statement was delivered to the court by Assistant District Attorney Irena Zajickova on her behalf:
“In the beginning, I hated you,” Strauss wrote. “I considered you a monster. Today, I no longer hate you. I feel sorry for you.”
Flow gunned the brothers down inside a black Kia sedan in the 4800 block of Bright Drive around 5:45 a.m. on May 25, 2015, because he thought that they had stolen $8,000 and two guns from his girlfriend the week prior.
At the time, he had attempted to pin the murders on Jonathan Evans and Evans’ now deceased cousin. Evans cooperated with law enforcement and testified against him, and received a 20-year sentence for his role in the shooting.
